Tiffanie & Kai

I could tell very quickly that Kai would be a tough cookie to crack during our session. He loves his mom and he hangs out on the shy side, searching for his momma’s arms for comfort from time to time.

We took out some bubbles and Tiffanie brought a super cool parachute! Some fun things from home to help Kai feel a little more comfortable and excited with all this new stuff happening.

Tiffanie followed her sons lead and walked into a single spot with him in the field. When he sat down, she sat right beside him. Pokies and all. It was like time stopped while I sat with them and watched them play together. As Kai gave her kisses. And as the sun shined through their hair like the sun bounces off the ocean. Colorful and magical.

But sooner than later, I would gain his trust after a few spins in Tiffanie’s arms! Before long, he was giggling and smiling with his sweet momma. One of my favorite prompts is spin with your baby! It creates movement but most importantly, it creates an intimate reality where only you and your baby exist for just a split second. It takes their fear and replaces it with laughter.

The sun eventually went to rest behind the mountain and it was time to kiss the wide open fields goodnight and put this brand new memory in our back pockets. To take it out and look at it later, reliving the blissful moments we made.

And so we did.
