Nursing Zander
This session is one that, as a mother, felt close to my heart. This session was a documentation of Yzzan nursing her son for one of the very last times. It's bittersweet. It's getting your body back. It's saying goodbye. It's leaning into what was and what is.
We walked around White Tanks and we found a peculiar spot. One to sit and one to roam. It was windy and beautiful; a perfect overcast day to see empowerment and vulnerability. Yzzan let her guard down + allowed me into her space where she leaned into this chapter coming to a close. Zander clung to his momma's chest one last time and then we watched his eyes get heavy with comfort. The comfort of his mother's arms wrapped around him so perfectly where his back filled the space of her arms with his presence, his whispy hair, and is tiny little blue shirt.
The story of nursing Zander ended one week ago today. But for the rest of forever, his mother will have these concrete images to look back on to bring her the same comfort she brought to him for 2 whole entire years.
